Message Given an auto & stick TT at the same boost levels, the stick has the potential to be faster in the 1/4. Simply because of the fact that you can launch the stick more aggressively off the line resulting in better 60' times. The stock auto will be always be slow off the line where it's already losing the race at the 60' mark. And when both stock cars hook up, the stick should have more RWHP over the auto to win the race, given the driver knows how to drive the stick.

Now let's talk about 400+ HP TT's, sticks vs auto's. With the stick, you better be damn good to be able to at least get a 2.0 60' time. I know a couple of guys that can pull 1.8's w/ street tires. And even 2.0's are not easy. Cause if you can't, you'll lose to the auto. The auto will always pull a 2.2 @ the 60' with the stock torqur converter(and 1.9's w/ a modded TC). So if the stick is not up to par with that, then the race is over! It's over cause, the auto is gonna maintain that same 14 lbs boost for the rest of the 1/4 mile *AND* will never miss a shift! The stick driver better be GOOD! He's gonna need to power shift and hit every gear WHILE hitting optimal shift points. I give alot credit to drivers that can do that!!! So the auto has a higher probability of repeatedly winning. This is interpreted as the auto being faster. But of course, there are very good drivers out there that can drive a stick TT faster than an auto. Just not many. And even less that can do it every single time.

I don't wanna start a flame war here. Just tellin it how I see it. But I'm sure to get flames from some auto-haters out there. So to them, get it out of your system right now...
